lyrics
The darkness was so tall
I couldn't imagine marvelous falls, could you tell?
I gripped the wheel so tight
Completely missing the stunning sites all around me
As far as roads can go
As far as dreamers go, but light won't reach my valleys
Struggling to hold me back
As it all slowly shrinks and sinks away from me
It swells the edges of my heart
It tears and break through, so breathe
They said I was running away
But I was running to
I was diagnosed I took half a dose
Too much to think about, on a western coast
Never planned before, never ran before
But certainly, in my soul there was a hole
That swells the edges of my heart
In the corners of my eyes, an emotional fool
They said I was running away
But I was running to you, I got a lot of things to do
But then came rock n' roll, it was the rock n' roll
The world in a rock n' roll show, I had to scream about it
Hey! We want you. We like you.

A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
