lyrics
Written on a cardboard square
“LISTEN TO WOMEN” hoisted in the air
Angry hearts flooding out of rooms
In the streets, and it’s not even noon
Just try to find the start, and hope to leave a mark
I’m heading to the park. I’ll see you at the march
Current moves with pussy hats
A giant Earth, not even flat
Hear the talk? Hear the singer?
Colored signs and middle fingers
You want the world to move? You got something to prove?
I’m heading to the park, I’ll see you at the march
I saw a dancer clinging to a light pole, a bullhorn calls
Through a jazz band, heading for higher land
Not sure who’s line you're towing
We’re locked in, so where we going?
This is democracy, how many'll have to take a knee
I see the walls are bending
Who do you think they’re gonna be sending
I don’t know, but i ran into Brendan
Here’s a prize it’s a piece of the building,
And all you want to do...
Not feel like a little civilian, they’re comin’ to bury you
Next time there’ll be a million...
Heading to the park, I’ll see you at the march
You want the world to move? You got something to prove?
Just try to find the start, and hope to leave a mark
They’re filling up the park, I’ll see you at the march

A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
Winter McQuinn mixes soft rock and psychedelic folk for a sound reminiscent of classic pop purveyors like Cut Worms and the Lemon Twigs. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 16, 2024
